Oct. 18, 2018 -- Dennis Livesay, dean of the Graduate School, associate vice president for Research and Technology Transfer, and professor of chemistry at Wichita State University, has been named the new dean of WSU's College of Engineering, effective Jan. 1.

Oct. 17, 2018 -- Wichita State University's Shocker Rowing team will soon have a new home in the downtown River Vista development.

Oct. 5, 2018 -- Retired Lt. Colonel Larry Burks is the new director of Military and Veteran Services at Wichita State University.

Oct. 2, 2018 -- Wichita State University has been awarded $813,000 to boost enrollment and retention of students under-represented in science, technology, engineering and math. The funds are part of a larger $3 million, five-year National Science Foundation grant awarded to Kansas State University, which is sharing grant funds with a statewide coalition of universities and community colleges.

Sept. 28, 2018 -- Cynthia Matson's time at Wichita State has shaped the student she is today. The business major is vice president of the Barton International Group, a student run consulting firm through the Barton School of Business at WSU.

Sept. 27, 2018 -- After months of anticipation, Fuzzy's Taco Shop confirmed plans to open a restaurant in Braeburn Square, the new retail complex at Wichita State University. Next summer Fuzzy's will join Starbucks and the Shocker Store in the development near 21st and Oliver.

Wichita State alum Ty Tabing is a "place-maker" and, starting with Braeburn Square, he wants to use the university's academic and arts activities to invite people to campus.

Sept. 21, 2018 -- The WSU Board of Trustees met Friday, Sept. 21, and were given a report on the campus from John Tomblin, vice president of research and technology transfer.

Sept. 20, 2018 -- WSU graduate Julius Thomas III is touring cross country with the Broadway hit show “Hamilton: The Musical.”

Sept. 19, 2018 -- Senior Grant Cohen believes that big dreams can lead to bigger opportunities. He proved this by landing a dream internship with the Washington Redskins summer.

Sept. 19, 2018 -- Carli McCloud, a sophomore majoring in exercise science, was told she would never be able to cheer again after being diagnosed with a degenerative bone disorder. She's currently a member of the WSU Spirit Squad.

At Wichita State, that means researching and analyzing two areas - the next generation of medium-sized helicopters and the next generation of tactical unmanned aerosystems for the Army.

Wichita State's Professional Edge Program gives students the tools to lead and participate in meetings, choose a mentor and identify their work-skill.

Aug. 24, 2018 -- Butler Community College business administration students who graduate with an associate degree are now able to seamlessly transfer into Wichita State University's W. Frank Barton School of Business.

Aug. 2, 2018 -- The Shocker Store (formerly University Bookstore) will be opening a 2,840-square-foot location in the new Wichita State University retail area, Braeburn Square
